Baby Talk, Stencils, Yarn, and Cabins (now with pictures)

I have become very unreliable for regular posts, haven't I? Well, as I mentioned in my last post I AM still crafting, but just recently uploaded some pics from my camera to my laptop.

A few weeks back I learned a coworker of 10 years and his long-time girlfriend had just had a baby. I experimented a bit, but wanted to sew something because it would be faster than knitting, since this gift was after the fact. I happened to have some flannel remnants on hand so I ended up making him a reversible baby bib. The "appliques" are actually just pieces of fabric attached using double-sided "steamaseam" which I LOVE. The snap is also reversible, so it looks the same on both sides. One of the appliques is actually cut from one of my old station shirts (coworker is a DJ on the hip hop station at the radio group where I work). I traced the bib shape from a butterick pattern onto freezer paper, but that is the only part of the pattern I used. He and his girl loved it!  I told him if he wants me to knit/crochet a blanket in the case that he has any more kids, he has to tell me BEFORE the baby arrives because I am just too slow with those crafts. This I made in an evening.

Also in my previous post I mentioned stuff I've been making, but now I have pics, so here are my two log cabin quilt blocks:

And a couple of tees I stenciled for my daughter inspired by her favorite tv show "Code Lyoko". They are quite big so she mainly sleeps in them (sorry for the blurry pic):

I have been crocheting granny squares and even made a baby blanket (a really WONKY one), but haven't taken pics yet, so I'll save that so I have something to past later.

Craft it if you've got it!
