In which I talk about what I've been up to during the past 6 weeks since my last TTMT and show off my final 3 Project Linus donations for 2021. Also progress on my Butterfly Quilt for my friend Kim and finishing my Halloween quilt. I miss my TTMT friends and am going to work harder to get videos made more often, at least every other week... 

TTMT #413 - jewells68 - November 3, 2021 - My SewJo Is a NoGo

In which I talk about resolving tension issues, show a bit of a recently-quilted Project Linus quilt, and talk about piecing a back for and quilting my the split 9patch Halloween quilt I pieced last year. I have never done quilt this much piecing for the back of a quilt. It was a bit of a pain, but I am in love with the result! I used half-inch seams throughout due to add stability.

In which I show off a completed Project Linus quilt, made from what I assume was a panel for a pillow or tote, to which I added 3 simple borders. And I actually managed to record on Tuesday morning because I had an early errand before work, and my daughter was already up and about so I took advantage of being up and dressed earlier than usual.

So I apologize in advance for this being long, BUT, consider it a month's worth of video in less than 20 minutes! I'll try to record at least one more time before the end of September so the next one won't be so long. TTMT #409 - jewells68 - July 13, 2021 - Adopting (Quilt Block) Orphans

Project Linus got to meet inside at the M3 this past Saturday, and it was so nice to get to relax inside. I even brought my yarn for crochet, which DEFINITELY would not happen while we were meeting outside in the heat. People have started bringing me their orphan blocks, so next time I get to retreat I'll have plenty to work with! Also, I apparently ordered ALL THE BATTING, lol.

TTMT #406 - jewells68 - June 15, 2021 - Kinda Tired

In which I show off the 3 quilts I donated to Project Linus this past weekend, as well as a top I pieced on Sunday from chopped up donated panels. I started my new job yesterday and am blazing through 22 software training modules so my brain is so fried right now. But I'm replacing someone who is retiring at the end of the month so I need to bust a move!

In which I show and tell what I made and/or finished during my long weekend BFF Retreat with Jennifer O., including the finished quilt from Jennifer's "Chocolate Box" pattern which I made for our host, dubbed "Long Live Rock", the matching "cat quilt" for his kitty, and the tops I pieced during retreat, including one Jennifer pieced and sent home with me. 2 are already quilted! Also I have some news that will affect my quality time in my Project Room. So make sure you watch all the way through. This one is longer than usual, but there are a lot of photos at the end.

TTMT #400 - jewells68 - April 20, 2021 - Now with More Geese

In which I show you progress on 3 more strips of flying geese and some fabric purchased to finish the very quilt for which I am making the geese. :) My workplace began transitioning the employees that have been working from home back to the office yesterday. I am scheduled to return on May 3. Understandably, I have mixed feelings about this, but am working on preparing myself both physically and mentally for the transition.

TTMT#399 - jewells68 - April 13, 2021 - Making the Cut(s)

So I just barely remembered today was Tuesday and recorded a quick video. Please excuse the messy hair... messier than usual hair, anyway, lol. But I just let it air dry and it was SUPER windy today and my hair was still wet when I went out this morning to bring the garbage and recycle bins back up to the house. Long story short (I know... too late!) it made my hair even more "mad scientist" than usual. In this brief video I wish my nephew a happy birthday, talk about an outdoor Project Linus meeting we had this past weekend, and show off a strip of flying geese. Stay crafty, my friends!

TTMT #398 - jewells68 - April 6, 2021 - Best Made Plans

In which I show you 2 finished quilts which will be donated this weekend to Project Linus. We are having a parking lot meeting to show off 1 quilt each and get supplies like batting and fabric. We are hoping to be able to meet inside next month, if not then maybe June. Meanwhile I have made zero progress on the panel quilt I started a couple weeks ago other than now all the supplies I need to finish the top are now obtained. So here's to making more progress in the coming week!

In which I talk about starting a new quilt design that I've already begun piecing. I also talk about things that need to be quilted and show some tops and backings Jennifer O. sent to me for Project Linus. Finishing the memory quilt and getting it into DeAnn's hands has motivated me to get more quilts finished, so that's what's on the agenda for April!

TTMT #395 - jewells68 - March 17, 2021 - Double Your Quilting, Double Yo...

Crafty times are back, y'all! I show you my first project with my Cricut Maker, as well as 2 quilts I finished this weekend. I quilted them at the same time, loaded ended to end on my frame using a single piece of backing and a single piece of batting. Worked a treat and super duper fast! So glad I got the Cricut and crafty plans are brewing. See y'all next week!

TTMT #394 - jewells68 - March 9, 2021 - Memories and Makers

I did it, I finished the memory quilt! Just need to label, make sure it doesn't fall apart in the wash, and mail it to its new home. What's next? Who knows! And I cut my own hair last week. So far I am totally happy with it. If I'm vaccinated by the time I need it cut again, maybe I'll even have a pro do the next one. :) In Maker news, I'm currently trying to make labels for some of my bins that will look prettier than the current look, which is "sharpie on blue painters tape", lol. Just taking each day as it comes so I can enjoy the crafty process.

TTMT #392 - jewells68 - February 23, 2021 - A Rainbow for My Brother

In which I show off my finished sewing machine cover made from my QAYG string blocks, and tell you how I made it. I did not follow a pattern, and if I were to do it again, there are definitely things I would do differently, but it's done. and I'm happy with it! It's bright and cheery and also used up a bunch of scraps. Not that my bucket of scraps seems any smaller, lol.

TTMT #389 - jewells68 - February 2, 2021 - Now With More Tops!

Yes that title is correct, I have been making even MORE tops for Project Linus over the past week. Do I need to be quilting the tops I already have done? Yes, yes I do. Will I be doing that soon? Yes, Yes I will. But for now, enjoy the results of this past weekend's "faux retreat". At least I pushed 3 more projects forward into finished charity quilt tops. I need to work on some personal projects as well. I think what I am saying is I need a REAL retreat... or at the very least, I need to take a few days off of work for a quilting staycation.

In which I celebrate another quilt top finish (YAY!!), talk about some Dinos that are paying a visit to Beartown (Whee!), show my progress on my knitted hat (made from Bernat Sox), and turn my camera around so you can see my design wall again! Also, snow fell in the high desert last night. (Boo... Hiss!) And so ends the productive month of January, 2021.

TTMT #386 - jewells68 - January 12, 2021 - Cutting a Path to the Future

In which I show off my first Project Linus quilt donation of 2021 as well as share what I'm currently doing for my local Project Linus group as well as my own Linus stash-busting. Having pre-cuts on hand to grab when you want to make a quilt top "right now" is super handy, and really doesn't take that much time and effort... especially if you do it on your lunch break every day! Also, how do you like the new stucco color? I love it, it makes me think of cinnamon. No more pink pepto bismol house!

Project Linus donation # 1 of 2021

The stripe fabric was a sort of textured fabric... "shot" I think it's called? I am pretty sure it was a cotton/poly blend that was meant to look like linen. It was from my Mom's fabric stash. Probably meant to make a shirt for my dad but never happened.

Vicky, I'm pretty sure this Peter Pan fabric came from you! The dark FQ came from that box Susan sent a year or two ago, and the blue and yellow I'm pretty sure came from Amber years and years ago!

TTMT #385 - jewells68 - January 5, 2021 - New Year, New Projects

In which I talk about what's currently on the quilting frame, WIP color theory wall hanging, and a crochet blanket currently on the hook for Project Linus. I've decided once again not to make a goal/to-do chart for what I want to finish this year, but just keep plugging away at what is currently in my line of vision, and when that is clear, turning my gaze to another corner or bin in the Project Room and starting there.
