TTMT #596 - nmjewells - October 27, 2026 - Pixel Me Done (Crafty Show & Tell)

 The pixel quilt top is done and it's an axolotl! And despite what I say in the video, it's quilted and off the frame already, woo! So in addition to quilting the background on the Birdwatcher BoM quilt first to warm up, I got the axolotl pixel quilt loaded, quilted, and unloaded. I'm so excited to be quilting again. I plan to take it to work with me tomorrow so I can trim it on the big tables in the shop classroom. I think I have the binding picked out already, but I may decide on that Thursday. This Friday, I'm hosting 5th Friday Finishers in the classroom, so if I don't already have the quilt bound by then I will do it during that open sew.

TTMT #595 - nmjewells - October 20, 2026 - Pixel Progress (Crafty Show & Tell)

 

This week I talk about a couple quilt tops I've currently got "on the go" (including the pixel quilt on the wall behind me). I'm using TenSisters 2inch finished Easy Piecing Grid that I purchased at the shop where I work for the pixel quilt. I'm actually using strips instead of squares wherever I can, so by using the easy piecing grid, it looks like it's all individual squares, giving it the look of pixels.

TTMT #586 - nmjewells - April 28, 2026 - PP Club Wall Hanging (crafty show & tell)

 

Firstly, Happy Birthday to Jennifer O (@ofenjen)! Founder of this group, enabler of craftiness, and the bestest bestie a person could have. All my love to you Jennifer!

I'm back this week with a quilt top finish that I started last year: a 37"x37" wall hanging using my patterns from the 2025 Paper Piecing Club Pattern Series. While the original plan was for a bed-sized on-point quilt, I decided I wanted this to be a wall hanging, probably for my Project Room.

I also started the bench pillow cover for my daughter using the Furruit Platter panel I got a week or so ago. It's great to be sewing again.

TTMT #584 - nmjewells - April 7, 2026 - A Bit Patchy (crafty show & tell)

 

This week I'm back in the Project Room and I've got something finished! I patched jeans that have been in my mending pile since it got too cold to wear jeans with a giant hole, lol. I'm super excited with how they turned out and excited to finally start putting this new-to-me machine through it's paces and see what it can do. The fabric I used was from my bin of cat-themed quilt fabric (yes, I have a whole container of cat-themed fabric, lol). one of the things I really wanted to do this year was use that bin of cat fabric. I do plan to design a quilt for it, but this seemed like the perfect craft for a scrap from that bin. It was really easier than I even expected it to be.

Sew-jo Suggestion Box (Craft Chat) - September 9, 2025 - nmjewells - aka TTMT #564

This week I'm talking about Sew-jo... how do you motivate yourself to do the stuff you don't WANT to do so that you can get to the fun stuff? I am having trouble motivating myself to clean and organize and purge, even though I know once I do I'll be happier trying to actually create in my space. What do you do? Asking for friend?

In which I show a new scrappy improv house block I pieced this weekend for my scrappy xmas quilt I started last year. This is clearly going to be a long-term project, lol. I'm slowly catching up on wathing and commenting on everyone's videos on the wordpress site. there have been some really nice things being made by everyone.
